Flatland ︎
Flatland is a republishing of Edwin A. Abbot’s book of the same name. The Victorian Era novel, written pseudonymously by ‘A Square’, attempts to introduce its audience to the complexities of multidimensional space through the metaphorical adventures of a 2 dimensional square and a 3 dimensional sphere. Here the story is illustrated with a series of photograms, which explore our significantly expanded understanding of physics and mathematics since The Victorian Era: the theoretical knowledge that, the number of dimensions contained within our universe could be far greater than the 4 (3 spacial and one for time) that we are able to perceive.
